The UK Knack Group 100 New Restaurant Jobs for Leeds
(PRWeb UK) December 24, 2010
The West Yorkshire city of Leeds is to be the beneficiary of fresh leisure life investment in the city when international restaurant operator D&D London opens there in two new locations.
Executive employment consultancy The UK Knack Group has reacted enthusiastically to the announcement, saying the move by D&D is all the more cogent an indicator of “bounce-back” in the nation’s economy, as disposable income is always the first victim of belt-tightening during times of straitened circumstances.
D&D’s chief executive officer, Des Gunewardena, says that his company’s expansion into Leeds was always on the cards, adding simply: “It’s just one of those cities where people love to eat out.”
More than 100 jobs will be created, one of the restaurants being French-themed and the other traditional British, both the eateries to be sited in the Land securities-managed central city Trinity Leeds shopping and leisure development.
The UK Knack Group’s Managing Director: “When a company such as D&D gets out to the provinces like this, that’s encouraging. These blokes know their onions, their bean counters will have done their sums, and if they say the market’s there, then we’re certainly looking at a re-bounding economy – and, look, they’re opening there in two venues – now that’s confidence.”
An opening date for the venues is yet to be confirmed, but Land Securities’ retail leasing director John Grimes says that the new D&Ds will give the centre some real “pizazz.”
Adds UK Knack CEO: “This could make an already pleasant complex a tourist attraction in its own right.”
