Saint Leo University Offers Innovative Online Sociology Degree
(PRWEB) September 02, 2011
This fall, students interested in sociology can study at their convenience thanks to the online sociology degree recently developed at Saint Leo University. Many of the same professors who teach on Saint Leo’s traditional campus will teach these online classes.
This online sociology degree provides the analytical tools needed to address complex sociological problems and emphasizes the related leadership skills necessary as part of Saint Leo University’s core values and traditions.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment for sociologists to increase by 21 percent between 2008 and 2018. “We are ready to serve this growing need by providing a strong academic experience in a way that’s convenient for our students,” says Mary T. Spoto, Ph.D., Dean of Saint Leo University’s School of Arts and Sciences.
Saint Leo, a nonprofit institution, started educating students in 1889 in the town of Saint Leo, Florida. That campus, with its gracious Spanish Mission architecture, is a picturesque environment for traditional students. Understanding that not everyone has time to attend classes in a campus setting, Saint Leo has become a recognized leader in the distance-learning field by bringing quality instruction online.
